Kristina D. Money, M.D. graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Physiology in 1995. Subsequently, she joined the U.S. Air Force and received her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in May 2000. She completed a residency in psychiatry in 2004 at University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio, where she was Assistant Chief Resident. She completed an Honorary Academic Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry awarded by the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatrists in 2004. In 2005, Dr. Money became a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry.


During her U.S. Air Force psychiatry career, Dr. Money served as Medical Director of Mental Health as well as deputy chief of medical staff for the 436th Dover Medical Group. This was followed by a return to her home state with an assignment to Andrews AFB, MD. There she was Chief of Addiction Services and Mental Health Clinic, as well as the Chair of the Psychiatry Department at Malcolm Grow Medical Center and site director for the National Capital Consortium psychiatry residency program. During this time, she was invited to move to the USUHS and there became Assistant Chair of the Psychiatry Department and a Scientist with the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress. She remains an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the USUHS.


Dr. Money has particular expertise in psychopharmacology, cognitive behavioral therapeutic techniques, and traumatic stress disorders. The treatments of children, adolescents, and adults with depressive illness, anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, bipolar disorder, and neuropsychiatric disorders are her specialties. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Maryland Psychiatric Society. She has numerous distinguished recognitions among which include the Air Force Medical Service Award for Clinical Excellence, Award of Excellence in Teaching, and three Meritorious Service Medals.
