Francisca Okwukogu, MSN, BSN, PMHNP-BC, CRNP-PMH, is a certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She has training and experience treating patients with psychiatric disorders across the lifespan and across practice settings, from hospitals to outpatient clinics.

 

Francisca’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Maryland Baltimore and a Master of Science in Nursing with  Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specialization from Walden University.

Brian DeLaurentis

Brian DeLaurentis, LMSW, is a Licensed Master Social Worker who practices under the supervision of Martin Schnuit, LCSW-C. He is a recent graduate of The Catholic University of America’s National Catholic School of Social Service where he received his Master’s of Social Work with a clinical concentration. Before Catholic, Brian attended Manhattan College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and competed at a division I level in NCAA athletics.

 

Brian has experience working with children and adolescents with multiple issues including behavioral problems, depression, and anxiety. At NIH, he interned within the Social Work department in conjunction with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Lymphoma, NCI Thoracic MOB and NCI Thoracic Surgery teams, and NCI Head and Trach team. Brian also is comfortable working with all ages of adults with a variety of issues.

 

Brian is interested in working with a wide range of clients including those experiencing PTSD, OCD, anxiety, performance-related anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, depression, behavioral problems, bereavement/grief, traumatic stress, and bi-polar disorder.

Timothy Griffith

Timothy Griffith, LCSW, is a licensed, certified social worker who practices under the supervision of Martin Schnuit, LCSW-C. Mr. Griffith has a wide range of experience in the delivery and administration of human services including: social services, behavioral health, aging and disabilities, public health, and juvenile justice. He received his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and he has also completed a variety of post-master’s clinical social work courses, as well as a certificate in substance use counseling.

 

Mr. Griffith’s recent clinical work has focused primarily on adults and seniors with serious mental illnesses, who may also have substance use and medical concerns.

 

Areas of professional interest include depression and other mood issues, anxiety, stress, trauma, substance use, grief and loss, anger management, mindfulness, managing physical health concerns, communication and relationship issues, and thinking and perceptual concerns.

 

Preferred Schedule: Mondays (10:00 to 5:00), Tuesdays (11:00 to 6:00), and Wednesdays(1:00 to 8:00).

Katherine E. Smith, Psy.D., a Psychology Associate, and has earned her doctorate in clinical psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, in Arlington, VA, and her Masters in Psychology at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. Dr. Smith completed her Pre-Doctoral Internship at Associated Clinical Services, a private practice in Springfield VA.

 

Dr. Smith has worked with a wide range of clinical pathology in all ages, but her primary focus is adolescents and young adults struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, sexuality and LGBT issues, crisis management, suicidal ideation and behaviors, adjustment disorders, and other interpersonal difficulties. She also has a background in working with young children (ages 8+) dealing with diagnoses such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and other emotional and behavioral problems.

Smith, Ph.D. Dr. Wiemken recently completed her pre-doctoral internship at Carson Valley Children’s Aid, where she worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Dr. Wiemken has provided treatment for individuals presenting with a broad range of concerns, including aggressive and disruptive behaviors, ADHD, self-injurious and suicidal behaviors, anxiety, personality disorders, and trauma histories. Dr. Wiemken provides evidence-based treatment and is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Parent Management Training, and Structural Family Therapy. Dr. Wiemken has additionally conducted psychological and neurological assessments with children, adolescents, and young adults.

Louis Woolard, Jr.

Louis E. Woolard, Jr., Ph.D., LCSW-C is a licensed clinical social worker who earned his degree at Marywood University. His special interests include child, adolescent, adult, and family psychotherapy, and program development. He has extensive experience in providing mental health services to children and their families.

 

Louis Woolard previously was Director of the Child and Youth Services Administration for the Commission on Mental Health Services for the District of Columbia, Director of a community mental health center, and Director of Residential Programs and Community Services for the New York State Office of Mental Health. He has served as a consultant to the juvenile justice systems of both New York State and the District of Columbia. Louis also provides technical assistance and training in the development of community based mental health services to communities across the country.

Martin Schnuit

Martin Schnuit, LCSW-C is a clinical social worker with advanced training and extensive experience in the mental health field. He received his MSW degree from the University of Maryland where he also completed two internships at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Medical Center.

 

In the past; he was a child and adolescent therapist at Glen Burnie Mental Health, has done contractual work for the Department of Juvenile Justice, was employed for three years at the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and was also on the Emergency Department staff at North Arundel Hospital. Martin is also a consultant for Sheppard Pratt Health Systems, providing evaluation and psychotherapy for students in the Hannah More and Forbush Schools.

 

Areas of interest include ADHD, anxiety disorders, PTSD, anger/stress management, addictions/alcoholism, childhood conduct problems, school difficulties, autism, Eastern philosophy and meditation, and art therapy.

Deanna Sanders

Deanna Sanders, Psy.D., is a psychology associate under the supervision of Scott E. Smith, Ph.D. She earned her Masters and Doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Sanders works with children, adolescents and adults who experience a range of difficulties including anxiety and panic disorders, depression, trauma, adjustment disorders, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, and intermittent explosive disorder.

 

Dr. Sanders has experience working in inpatient, outpatient, and intensive outpatient settings. She also has experience administering psychological and neuropsychological testing with children, adolescents, and adults. As part of her training, Dr. Sanders has completed three externships and one internship. She completed her internship at Pennsylvania Counseling Services where she provided mental health and addictions counseling as well as completed psychological assessments.

 

She primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy to help people build new skills to manage and cope with problems and encourages them to consider problems from new perspectives. She also utilizes positive psychology to build on people’s individual strengths, as well as mindfulness meditation and motivational interviewing.

Melissa Jordan

Melissa Phillips Jordan, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who has been providing mental health services since 1998. She provides individual, couples, and family therapy, and comprehensive psychological evaluations to children, teens, and adults. She has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health agencies, hospitals, schools, substance abuse treatment centers, and forensic settings. She uses an integrative therapeutic approach to help individuals improve their quality of life, often focusing on building coping skills, improving interpersonal effectiveness, and increasing problem solving ability.

 

After earning a bachelor’s in Psychology from Howard University and a masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from George Washington University, Dr. Phillips Jordan went on to earn her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University. In addition to private practice, she teaches graduate courses, conducts mental health training seminars, and engages in research projects. Dr. Phillips Jordan also enjoys having a writing career. She is the author of the children’s picture book entitled What Do I Sound Like?, and writes in the short fiction and practical nonfiction genres.
