Samantha Rodman, Ph.D.

Samantha Rodman, Ph.D. is a psychology associate working under the supervision of Dr. Smith. Originally from New York City, she attended Columbia University for her undergraduate work.  Dr. Rodman then received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Maryland at College Park, and completed an internship at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Dr. Rodman treats adults and couples.  She specializes in cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal therapy for depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, adjustment issues, trauma, personality disorders, and relationship difficulties.  With couples, Dr. Rodman specializes in improving communication and trust, fostering closeness and understanding, and addressing sexual and intimacy issues.  Dr. Rodman has been extensively trained in cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders, including exposure-based treatment of generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.  She has also received specialized training in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive-behavioral couples counseling, and issues facing veterans and their spouses.  Dr. Rodman has worked in a range of settings, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Crime Victims Center, and university mental health clinics. Dr. Rodman has written several journal articles and presented at professional conferences on a variety of topics, including anxiety disorders and behavior therapy.  She lives in Arnold, Maryland with her husband and daughter.
