 Our offices usually remain open during periods of inclement weather; however, individual clinicians may elect to cancel their scheduled appointments. If you have an appointment during a period of inclement weather, please check your clinician's voicemail greeting for his or her availibility. You may also ring through to our staff, but please be aware that we may be short-staffed and experiencing high call volumes during weather emergencies. Kristen Tarquin, Ph.D.

Kristen Tarquin, a licensed psychologist, received her doctorate in Counseling/School Psychology from the University at Buffalo-SUNY. Currently, she works full time in a school district in addition to her work at Spectrum Behavioral Health, and is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.

Dr. Tarquin has experience in a variety of settings, including various school systems, an inpatient psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents, and a strength-based community family counseling program. She also worked for two years in a program for the prevention of disruptive behavior disorders in the schools, serving as a consultant to teachers and parents for children diagnosed with ADHD and oppositional behavior disorders. Additionally, she has served as an adjunct faculty member at several universities in Western New York, teaching courses related to psychological assessment, individual counseling theories, and advanced group counseling.

Dr. Tarquin has authored several professional journal articles and presented at various professional conferences. Her research interests relate to the effect of trauma and alienation on self concept and social-emotional development. She draws on cognitive-behavioral and strength-based approaches when working with children, adolescents and adults.
