Deanna Sanders, Psy.D.

Deanna Sanders, Psy.D., is a psychology associate under the supervision of Scott E. Smith, Ph.D. She earned her Masters and Doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Sanders works with children, adolescents and adults who experience a range of difficulties including anxiety and panic disorders, depression, trauma, adjustment disorders, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, and intermittent explosive disorder.

Dr. Sanders has experience working in inpatient, outpatient, and intensive outpatient settings. She also has experience administering psychological and neuropsychological testing with children, adolescents, and adults. As part of her training, Dr. Sanders has completed three externships and one internship. She completed her internship at Pennsylvania Counseling Services where she provided mental health and addictions counseling as well as completed psychological assessments.

She primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy to help people build new skills to manage and cope with problems and encourages them to consider problems from new perspectives. She also utilizes positive psychology to build on people‚Äôs individual strengths, as well as mindfulness meditation and motivational interviewing.
