Marna Brickman, LGSW
(Annapolis Office)

Marna W. Brickman, LGSW is a licensed graduate social worker who works under the supervision of Martin Schnuit, LCSW-C with both adults and children providing individual, family, group and couples therapy.

She received her Masters of Social Work Degree from the University of Maryland where she completed two internships as part of her training.  One was with Children’s Choice Foster Care Agency where she acted as a case worker and the second was with Chesapeake Life Center, Hospice of the Chesapeake where she worked as a grief counselor.  As a case worker she worked in all aspects of foster care: liaison, counselor, support group leader, advocate, mentor and record keeper.  While at the Chesapeake Life Center, she offered bereavement services to individuals and groups dealing with a variety of grief from losing loved ones in hospice care, to sudden and traumatic loss, to pregnancy and pet loss.  She knows that loss plays a huge part in our life and how we deal with those painful transitions has a profound impact.

Her degree specialization is Clinical Health and she has training in dealing with medical issues, patient care, hospice and family/caregiver stressors.

Marna also has experience as a Life Coach having studied with the Coaches Training Institute and Coach University.  She particularly enjoyed helping clients develop vision boards for their future and create action plans with manageable steps in how to reach their goals.

She feels that the forward thinking emphasis in coaching melds perfectly with analyzing the hurdles and disorders that clients are facing to help them heal and move forward.  She values the importance of the client/therapist relationship and attempts to create an atmosphere of trust and openness for important work and healing to be done.

Areas of interest include: addiction, ADD/ADHD, adoption, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, career counseling, depression, family conflict, grief, life coaching, parenting, self-esteem, spirituality, stress management and 12-step programs.

Marna lives in Annapolis, MD with her family.
