 Spectrum Behavioral Health proudly announces the newest member of our team; Akira Otani, Ed.D., A.B.P.H. Dr. Otani joins Spectrum, having recently been with the Counseling Center at the University of Maryland, College Park. Having spent his childhood in Osaka, Japan, he is fluent in both the English and Japanese languages. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychological Hypnosis. We are very proud to introduce him as a qualified member to our outstanding team and excited to welcome him in both offices. He is available to accept new patients immediately.
Martin Schnuit, LCSW-C (Arnold Office), is a clinical social worker with advanced training and extensive experience in the mental health field. He received his Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Maryland, where he also completed two internships at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, V. A. Medical Center.

In the past he was a child and adolescent therapist at Glen Burnie Mental Health Center, has been a consultant for Anne Arundel County and the Maryland State Police, has done contractual work for the Department of Juvenile Justice, and was employed for three years by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene at Spring Grove Hospital Center in Baltimore County.

Currently, he is on the Emergency Department staff at North Arundel Hospital in Glen Burnie. Areas of interest include A.D.H.D.; anger management, anxiety/trauma reduction, stress management, dual diagnosis, Eastern philosophy and meditation, psychotherapeutic metaphor, and art therapy.
